Reasons for Vaginoplasty

This surgery is recommended for women who have experienced one or more of the following:

Enlargement of the vaginal labia, creating an irregular or less aesthetic appearance.

Stretching and looseness of the perineal and vaginal tissues after childbirth, reducing pleasure during sexual intercourse.

Discomfort during physical activity.

Insecurity about intimate appearance.

Low self-esteem and personal confidence.

This is a safe procedure that is performed in a short amount of time. Recovery is fast, and discomfort typically decreases by the third day, allowing the patient to return to daily activities in just a few days.

At AmayaClinic®, we offer a free digital pre-assessment to provide you with information and pricing for your surgery in a simple and secure way. You will receive a personalized document from Dr. Felipe Amaya, just as you would in an in-person consultation.

Before & After:
Vaginoplasty

An informed patient is a confident patient.
Our patients ask: How is a vaginoplasty performed?
  • For aesthetic purposes, incisions are made in the labia minora to remove excess tissue, followed by a reconstruction that achieves a natural result.
  • When the labia majora are lax or overly prominent, they are remodeled, and occasionally fat transfer is performed to enhance their appearance.
  • If the patient experiences a loss of tone in the vaginal canal, an affiliated gynecologist addresses the functional aspect.

Frequently Asked Questions about this Surgery

How painful is a vaginoplasty?

The pain associated with vaginoplasty is moderate but can be easily controlled with medication. Patients can resume their daily activities within about three days.

General anesthesia is commonly used for vaginoplasty, taking into account both the patient’s preferences and the surgeon’s evaluation.

While initial recovery takes around three days, sexual intercourse should not be resumed until after 45 days—depending on each patient’s healing progress. It’s important to follow your doctor’s instructions to ensure you’re ready before resuming sexual activity.

After the procedure, sensitivity is typically preserved. Dr. Felipe Amaya makes incisions in discreet areas, making them virtually unnoticeable.

After vaginoplasty, it is essential to adhere to specific aftercare guidelines to ensure proper healing:

  • Avoid exercise during the first month..
  • Sexual Activity: Refrain from sexual intercourse for the first 45 days to prevent complications and promote healing..
  • Do not perform vaginal douches, as they can disrupt the natural balance and interfere with the healing process.

We use absorbable sutures that dissolve naturally over time, eliminating the need for a follow-up appointment to have them removed—providing greater comfort and peace of mind.

Many patients report an improvement in their sexual life following a vaginoplasty, as they feel more satisfied and confident with their appearance, which enhances intimacy.

At AmayaClinic®, you’ll find the well-being and security you’ve always desired.
