Our Surgical Procedures

If you’re considering breast surgery and aren’t sure which one is right for you, we invite you to explore the different procedures performed by Dr. Felipe Amaya and the AmayaClinic® team.

Reducción y levantamiento de senos
Breast Reduction and Lift

This is one of the most demanding techniques where we have the most experience. We combine breast reduction with a lift (or mastopexy) to adjust the size and reposition the breast, either with or without implants.

Mamoplastia de aumento
Breast Augmentation (Mammoplasty)

We use biocompatible implants that minimize any risk of inflammatory response. This procedure offers a wide variety of shapes and sizes, tailored to the preferences and needs of each patient.

Explantación mamaria
Breast Implant Removal (Explant Surgery)

This is one of the most requested procedures at AmayaClinic® thanks to Dr. Felipe Amaya’s expertise in complex cases, ensuring optimal recovery and natural results.

Frequently Asked Questions about Breast surgery

Can I breastfeed after breast surgery?

This may vary depending on the procedure you choose. In the case of a breast lift (mastopexy), between 20% and 40% of patients may experience difficulties with breastfeeding. However, in breast augmentation, there is no risk as the functionality of the breast is maintained intact.

To learn the cost of your procedure at AmayaClinic®, you can choose between an in-person consultation with Dr. Felipe Amaya or a 100% virtual pre-assessment process, which is completely free of charge.

Breast surgeries are usually less painful than expected, and with the proper medication, discomfort can be avoided. However, in implant procedures, there may be a feeling of pressure in the chest during the first five days.

All our breast procedures are outpatient. A breast lift and reduction take about two hours, while breast augmentation is completed in about an hour.

We recommend waiting at least a month before engaging in sports activities. Sun exposure or exercising may darken the scars and increase the risk of infection in the de infección en las wounds.

Results will be immediate, but they will vary depending on the surgery:

  • After augmentation, you’ll notice a fuller cleavage initially, which will gradually settle into a more natural appearance within the first month.
  • In cases of reduction or lift, you’ll see an initial fullness in the upper portion of the breast with a flatter lower section; over the first three months, the cleavage will soften, and the breast will take on a rounder, more balanced shape.

You should seek medical attention if you experience:

  • Noticeable swelling in the breast.
  • Severe, unbearable pain.
  • Fever, chills, or general discomfort.
  • Discharge from the incision site.
  • Redness in the breasts
  • Breast surgeries are generally not painful, and most patients can resume daily activities by the third day.
  • Exercise should be avoided for at least one month.
  • The incisions remain covered for the first 15 days, after which a care regimen begins, including specialized creams, silicone sheets, and massage therapy.

It is essential for women to understand that breast implants must be replaced every 10 years.

  • Having silicone implants for 10 years or more.
